I can get information on a second mortgage that is not my name, but want to act on the property?
When I married, my husband had a second mortgage on the house. Now we are divorced and I got home, but with two mortgages. The bank holding the mortgage note for the second will not send me a book payment because my name is not on the loan. A tip? I should add that I continued to make payments by adding the number of my checking account.
HoneySuite gives good advice. I do not understand is how the second mortgage is for her husband's name only. Banks (and possibly federal law) requires federally insured mortgages to be the name of both spouses. I question the legality of the loan officer who approved the loan without his signature. You may want to consider getting a lawyer, you can not even have to pay if they made illegally.
