router choose?

I have a PC connected via ADSL. I have no other computers in my house but I want to even connect to a router for the hardware firewall it provides. I do not need bells and whistles and cost is a factor. My questions are: all routers, including wireless and wired firewall type offers protection? With the cost of the router firewall and note that all recommend? Thanks in advance
